  • 8 slices day-old french bread, crusts removed
  • 1/4 cup carp roe (tarama)
  • 3 tablespoons diced shallot
  • 3/4 cup quality extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
