Best Apple Tart

A tarte tatin is a pastry with fruit that’s been caramelized in butter and sugar before the tart is baked. It’s also baked upside down so the pastry crust stays crisp while the fruit gets soft, then it’s flipped back once it’s baked.

Ingreadient

  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 6 to 7 tablespoons cold water
  • 5 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 tablespoon water
